This picture is from last year’s Thanksgiving in New Orleans with Chaz’s family. We decide every Thanksgiving where the next year will be. We decided we’d spend it in our new home in Denver! We were THRILLED everyone was going to join us! 🏔

Oh, hey COVID. I see you. 🙄 Sadly, none of our family could come... We’re missing everyone terribly! So we made the Thanksgiving meal ourselves, and our next door neighbors came over and enjoyed it with us. 🥰
.
It was SUCH a lovely afternoon. I’m so grateful this year has been about our family of four. We’ve spent more time together than we’ve ever spent before. And turns out we really like each other! 😂
.
But in the same breath, I’m sad. I’m sad to not be spending Thanksgiving with our families. We miss them. I’m tired of being stuck in our homes. I miss community. I miss knowing and being known. COVID is BAD in Denver.

Ella. My entire business started because of this sweet little girl. 🎀 A little backstory for those of you who are new here: Chaz and I got married right after I graduated college in 2012… Our “Plan” was to have our first child in 2020 (laughs all around). 😂 We got pregnant SIX. WEEKS. LATER. 😱

Not only that, but our little go-getter came at THIRTY weeks. For reference, pregnancy is supposed to last 40 weeks. She was very premature. Our precious little girl was 3 pounds, 5.8 ounces. I was so early, and I was the very first of all of my friends to have a baby, so I knew nothing. I didn’t even know I was in labor until we GOT to the hospital. It was crazy. And, quite frankly, traumatic. 😳

I had been working at a wonderful web design and development firm in Savannah, Georgia, and my “Plan” (are you seeing a theme here?) was to go back to work full time. Our neonatologist told us sending Ella to daycare at 6 weeks, when she should have still been in my body, would be way too risky. A baby that tiny doesn’t have the immune system to fight off sickness (it was still cold/ flu/ RSV season). Soo… I decided to work part time from home. 💕

That’s when it all started. She’s the reason I needed a job from home. I worked at the design and development firm for a while, then I designed custom wedding invitations and stationery for a while and did contract graphic design work. And finally, in the midst of all the graphic design work, I started @oliveyouwhole in July of 2014. 🎉

Now I’m helping YOU build and grow your dreams and businesses. It’s such a dream come true. All thanks to Ella 💕 (Pics so you can see how tiny she was - that Soothie paci was as big as her head!)

We won’t agree about everything. But we HAVE to agree about this. We have to count every vote. EVERY voice must be heard.

Suppressing voters, claiming “victory,” calling legal votes illegal... That’s not democracy.

Have you invested in your business? 🤷🏻‍♀️ It took me WAY too long to truly invest in my business.

What do I mean?

So many different things, really. For me, it started a few years ago hiring a Virtual Assistant. I had a year where I started outsourcing everything I wasn’t great at. And let me tell you, it was AMAZING. 🤩

Try to think about what are the things you HAVE to do? Client meetings, webinars, zoom coaching calls... Typically, it’s things you HAVE to show your face at! 💁🏻‍♀️

Anything else? Start considering if you could outsource! Some areas to consider:
- copywriting
- ad management
- social media management
- accounting
- content creation manager
- photographer
- videographer
- podcast manager
- ...the list goes on!

Other ways to invest in your business are LEARNING! I’ve been taking courses right and left (and *actually finishing them*). I have learned SO much- especially about ways I can be increasing my reach and my income! It really fires me up! 🔥

IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER: When we make smart investments in our business, our business GROWS! 🌱
